PURPOSE:To produce the titled molded article having a small coefficient of thermal expansion by a method wherein an appropriate amount of a powder of a polyimide resin composition is placed in a preheated mold, then a foam metal molded article is placed in the mold, the powder is further charged into the mold and the whole is heated under pressure. CONSTITUTION:An appropriate amount of a composition consisting mainly of a polyimide base resin is placed in the preheated mold, and a core material consisting of the foam metal molded article 1 is placed thereon. Next, the powder of the composition is further charged into the mold, and is compression molded by heating to a temperature of 210-240 deg.C while pressuring the entire body of the mold. Accordingly, since the resin composition can be perfectly charged into pores of the molded body 1, a molded article having a small coefficient of thermal expansion wherein a resin molded layer 2 and the surfaces of the metal molded article 1 are perfectly fusion bonded to eath other can be obtained. |
