PURPOSE:To prevent a phosphor layer from peeling off during insertion by inserting a discharge path regulator into a bulb under reduction of its width to a smaller size than the inner diameter of the bulb and later restoring the discharge path regulator to the original state for fitting. CONSTITUTION:A discharge path regulator 4 made of a thin stainless plate is forced to bend by using a jig, and is inserted into a predetermined position of a bulb with a dome-shaped top and with a phosphor face 2 formed inside. The, the jig is removed, and the discharge path regulator 4 is restored to a flat plate shape. Next, a stem 5 is inserted through the bottom of the bulb 1 so that the lower end of the discharge path regulator 4 fits in a concave groove 51, and the bottom of the bulb 1 and a stem edge 6 are sealed together. Accordingly, the discharge path regulator can be fitted without peeling off the phosphor layer. |
