<p>The mat or sheet includes a flexible layer(III) made of a material contg. open pores; and the pores are filled to at least part of the thickness of layer(III) with particles(IV) possessing a higher density than material(III). Particles(IV) are bonded to each other and to the walls of the pores. The pref. mat or sheet consists of a thin flexible substrate(I) made e.g. of a glass fibre mat, and coated with an adhesive(II) bonding a polymer layer(III), which is e.g. a non-flammable, cellular polyether; and particles(IV) are pref. metal concentrates, milled minerals, sand, or similar materials. A relatively thin mat has a sound absorption of 25-30 dBA.</p> |
