PURPOSE:To extinguish flames quickly and to prevent carbon monoxide and smell from producing when in a liquid fuel combustion device of wick vaporization type the fire is extinguished by separating the wick completely from the burning cylinder with a cover which moves vertically with the wick. CONSTITUTION:The wick 4 has a main wick 4a mounted on a supporting metal 4c through a spacer 4b and fixed by clicks 4d on the supporting metal 4c and an adhering tape 4e. In a steady combustion the upper part of the main wick 4c is exposed in the burning tube 5 and vaporizes the fuel. Air is supplied from many air holes 4g made on the upper part of the supporting metal 4c, rises along the main wick 4a through the gap provided by the spacer 4b and vaporization of fuel is accelerated. In the extinguishing time, when the wick 4 is dropped, the whole main wick 4a is sunk in the gap between the in-wick tube 2 and the out- wick tube 3, besides, the upper surface of the gap is choked by the cover body 4f on the tip of the supporting metal 4c and vavorized gas from the main wick 4a is interrupted. |
