<p>PURPOSE:To improve the capturing efficiency for particularly fine particles with reduced gaseous pressure drop by using a conductive porous metallic body having three-dimensional networklike skeleton as a dust precipitating electrode of an electrical dust precipitator, and placing this in the rear stage of discharge electrodes at a right angle to the gaseous flow. CONSTITUTION:In an electrical dust precipitator for the purpose of capturing fine dust as a final filter for a clean room or the like of semiconductor factories, etc., a conductive porous metallic body 8 of a flat plate having three-dimensional networklike skeleton is used as a dust precipitating electrode, and this is disposed perpendicular to gaseous flow 4 so that gases are compelled to pass through the inside of the body 8. The preferable thickness of the body 8 is about 15-20mm.. Discharge electrodes 2 are arranged at about 2-5cm forward of the body 8 and are applied with about 10,000-30,000 volts. Since the body 8 has a large surface area and small air flow passage resistance, it improves capturing efficiency for particularly fine particles (<=1 micron).</p> |
