The sole insert (3) is for walking shoes and is mounted between the inner sole and the sole of the shoe. It is a monobloc piece that is moulded rubber. It has a flat base (3) and a shaped top (7) which fits the curve of the sole of the foot. It is bonded or sewn onto the sole and the inner sole and welt. A rigid plate (12) is moulded into the heel (13) of the insertion. The front part of it has cells (9) across it which are formed by transverse ribs (10).
