The invention relates to a vacuum-tight push-in connection for pipe sections or pipe sections with connection pieces to be welded by means of electron beam welding. During the electron beam welding, which is carried out under vacuum, the air contained in the pipe part escapes and thus problems arise in maintaining the vacuum. According to the invention, it is proposed that one end of the pipe section or connection piece to be connected have a tapered inner recess starting at the end face, while the end of the other pipe section or connection piece to be connected to it has an inner collar with outer surfaces tapering towards the free end, and that the taper of the inner recess be designed to be slightly smaller than the taper of the collar and that it be dimensioned in such a way that, when the tapers are pressed axially into one another for connecting the ends, permanent deformation producing a frictional and positive-locking connection occurs in this area. <IMAGE>
