COATING FOR METAL-CUTTING TOOL

A coating for a metal-cutting tool consists of 90 to 70 percent by weight of titanium nitride and of 10 to 30 percent of chromium nitride or 3 to 18 percent of aluminium nitride, 2 to 8 percent of molybdenum nitride, 2 to 10 percent of chromium nitride and 0.5 to 10 percent silicon nitride, all of them being taken in the aggregate and spread evenly withing the whole volume of the coating. The coating is intended prefereably for applying on the metal-cutting tool used for machining of stainless steels and heat-resistant alloys.
