The invention serves for the individual separation of textile sheet-like structures. The object of the invention is to provide a device which at all events guarantees an individual separation of the blanks, irrespective of different cloth qualities, in order to avoid interrupting the technological production cycle. By means of one or more pivotable needle sets, one edge of the uppermost layer of the blank stack is swung up and air is blown into the gap occurring between the two upper cloth layers. When the individual separation device is raised, the air jet causes a reliable separation of the two upper layers of sewing material. <IMAGE>
