The invention relates to non-oriented silicon-steel sheeting having low watts loss and uniform magnetic properties, which contains from 1.5 to 3.5% of Si, has a particularly low C content and a low content of soluble Al and has a ratio of B to N in the range from 0.4 to 2.0 and further contains at least one rare-earth metal. The relationship between the watts loss and the Ce content is shown in Figure 2. <IMAGE>
