PURPOSE:To determine Ca quickly and accurately in the stage of measuring the coloration of orthocresol phthalein complexon and Ca and determining the Ca in a vital sample, by using 8-hydroxyquinoline-5-sulfonic acid as a masking agent for Mg. CONSTITUTION:A vital sample such as serum is added to the reagent compsn. consisting of 0.02-0.002W/V% orthocresol phthalein complexon, 0.7-0.05W/V% 8-hydroxyquinoline-5-fulfonic acid as a masking agent for Mg, and more preferably, a buffer of 0.9-11.3pH contg. 0.01-5W/V% mercapto compd. and/or (di) thioether compd. (e.g. monoethanol amine) and the orthocresol phthalein is caused to react with the Ca in the sample and is colored, thence its color is determined by the colorimetry. |
