A device for adjusting the optical axis of a directed light source, in particular a vehicle headlight, having a reflector with three-point suspension, of which two points are connected to an adjusting screw and one point is mounted hinged in a fixed position, comprises an adjusting screw for the vertical adjustment of the optical axis, which is guided displaceably with a stop element or head in a driven toothed wheel. An adjusting bolt provided with a drive gear is arranged perpendicular to the adjusting screw. The adjusting screw and a cylinder of an adjusting mechanism that can be controlled from a remote point are rotatably connected to one another directly or via a holder. The adjustment of the adjusting screw can thus be performed via the adjusting bolt by rotation or via the adjusting mechanism by displacement. <IMAGE>
