PURPOSE:To enable production of a thin alloy sheet without recourse to rolling, by forming sludge containing alloy powder, which is difficult to be rolled, into a thin sheet in a tape-casting method, compressing the sheet and then sintering the sheet. CONSTITUTION:To 100 parts of the mixture of alloy powder such as carbonyl iron powder and a high-silicon iron alloy, which is difficult to be rolled, are added 1.2 parts of polyvinyl butyral as a binder, 1.5 parts of dibutyl phthalate as a plasticizer and 9 parts of ketone, alcohol or the like as a solvent at a rate as little as possible. The mixture is blended and formed into a sludgy state. The sludge is formed into a thin green sheet having thickness of 0.4mm. or so on a carrier film by a tape-casting method, compressed by passing it through a space between steel rolls and then separated from the carrier film. Thereafter, the binder is removed at 200-300 deg.C, and the sheet is sintered at a temperature of 1,350 deg.C in a hydrogen atmosphere. Thus, thin sheet is produced from the brittle alloy which can not be rolled. |
