PURPOSE:To allow high density recording with an easy magnetization axis vertical to a magnetic surface, by adding required amount of Mn to Co. CONSTITUTION:The Co-Mn containing 10 atomic % of Mn is sputtered to thickness of 0.5mum on a base of a glass substrate to form a magnetic layer of a Co- Mn thin film providing a recording medium. Thus, Co is maintained in h, c and p structures to decrease the saturated flux density M thereof. As the result, a vertical magnetized recording medium for high density recording is obtained with the easy magnetization axis vertical to the magnetic surface. |
