PURPOSE:To prevent the destruction of a user medium due to malfunction, by setting a label which can discriminate the user medium from a test use work medium and deciding the level with a program. CONSTITUTION:The operator mounts a test medium on a disc device 3 being a device to be tested and starts a test program. When the test program is started, a cylinder #0 and a track #0 of the medium mounted on the device 3 are read to check if the content has a special label name ''TDTDNFS''. When the label is equal to the ''TDTDNFS'', it is regarded that the test medium is correctly mounted and the test is executed. On the other hand, if the label is not equal to the ''TDTDNFS'', alarming goes that it is not the test medium and an instruction request message if the execution of test is kept is outputted to a console 4. Thus, the destruction of the user medium due to malfunction can be avoided. |
