PURPOSE:The titled fiber that is prepared by coating fine metal fibers with a head plating layer of a specific Vickers hardness on the surface, thus being used as a reinforcing material and electrically conductive material, because of its high hardness and stiffness, further high strength and elasticity. CONSTITUTION:Fiber of metal such as stainless steel of less than 80mu diameter (less than 0.005mm.<2> cross section) is subjected to electroplating so that the hard plated layer of more than 150 Vickers hardness such as nickel or chromium plated layer usually becomes less than 0.5mu in thickness.
