In racks arranged next to one another at a distance apart while forming aisles, the problem arises of completely shifting the trucks (1) into the respective shelf, which trucks (1) reach under the pallets to be stored or removed from store and form an integral part of a lifting table (7) which can be moved into the aisles between the racks. To this end, in combination with endless opposed driving chains (3) allocated to the lifting table (7) under the track (8) for the truck, opposed telescopic cylinders (2) are provided on the underside of the truck (1), the piston rods of which telescopic cylinders (2) run out in shaped parts (5) releasably fitting into receptacles (6) in the driving chains (3). <IMAGE>
