Plates for printing multicolour reproduction of Jacquard fabric - produced by digital printer plotter direct from stored numerical data

The process is intended for producing a multi-colour printed reproduction of a textile prod. woven by the Jacquard method whereby, in producing the fabric, the colour points were stored in numerical form on a tape or disc or the like. The stored numbers representing such colour points are converted into control signals or series of control signals, and the signals are fed to an electronically controlled digital printer plotter, digital master or photo-plotter which uses the signals to produce a separate printing plate for each colour. The complete programme which controls the plotter may provide compensation for ink-run-out during subsequent printing to avoid colour overlap. Used in producing colour print of Jacquard-woven (or to be woven) fabric. The need for colour sepn. as required when producing plates from a photograph of the actual fabric or design drawing is avoided and greater accuracy of the reproduction is achieved.
