Independent wheel suspension for motor vehicles with heavily inclined telescopic shock absorbers arranged under the floor and acting directly between vehicle body and wheel suspension elements, the bottom ends of which shock absorbers are articulated on the wheel suspension elements by way of a shock absorber eye/bolt connection, the bolts being fixed on the wheel suspension elements and running at an angle into the chamber in such a way that the eyes of the telescopic shock absorbers supported on them experience at least close to no cardanic angular adjustment when the wheel suspension elements compress and expand. <IMAGE>
