In the case of a process for producing a conducting compression moulding material for a capacitive recording medium having consistently predetermined performance characteristics from carbon black and a compression moulding synthetic resin, in order to predetermine uniformly the performance characteristics of the recording medium to be produced, in spite of varying parameters of the ingredients, a compression moulding material is adapted to the predetermined performance characteristics by determining and setting the melt viscosity.
