<p>A portable toy circular saw comprises a body 1 to which is connected a semi-circular shell 8. A semicircle 11 with a surface 13 resembling a circular saw pivotally mounted and is urged by a spring out of the shell 8. A notch in the semicircle 11 allows the semicircle to retract pivotally into the shell against the spring action when simulating sawing. Retraction of the semicircle causes the end of a strip 7 to be urged against the teeth of a toothed wheel 6 on the output shaft of an inertia mechanism including a flywheel spun by an automatically retracting pull string 4. The strip and toothed wheel thus produce a sound similar to that of using a circular saw. <IMAGE></p> |
