<p>A dialkyl cyanodithioimino carbonate of the formula <CHEM> where each R is independently an alkyl group, is prepared by a process which results in a product suitable for conversion to a cyanoguanidine for pharmaceutical use, the process involving the reaction, in the absence of any substantial amount of solvent other than water, of alkali, cyanamide, a sulphur providing agent and an alkylating agent.</p> |
