PURPOSE:To prevent a pipe guide from colliding against a work, by automatically feeding to insert a wire electrode of the above described device to a machined hole of the work through the pipe guide and interposing a contact detector in the pipe guide. CONSTITUTION:When an wire electrode 38 is automatically fed to a machining start hole 12a in a work 10, a clamping mechanism 42 is firstly opened through a solenoid 46 to feed the electrode 38 into a pipe guide 36. Then a slider 16 is lowered through a motor 20 along a guide 14, and the pipe guide 36, fixed to the slider 16, is extended through the machining start hole 12a and lowered to the front of an electrode guide 72. At this time, if the work 10 is contacted to the pipe guide 36, the motor 20 is stopped simultaneously an alarm is generated through a detector 91. |
