PURPOSE:To agitate the unsolidified parts in an ingot effectively by disposing electromagnetic guide rollers insert-fitted with ring-like ferromagnetic substances in the central part of non-magnetic substances on both sides of the ingot and passing magnetic fluxes through the ingots by means of the ferromagnetic substances. CONSTITUTION:Electromagnetic guide rollers 6 are provided between electromagnetic agitators 4 installed opposite to each other with an ingot 2 in-between. The rollers 6 are made by insert-fitting plural pieces of ring-like ferromagnetic substances 5 in suitable positions at constant intervals in the longitudinal direction of guide rollers 3'' manufactured of non-magnetic materials, and iron cores 4' of the electromagnetic agitators 4 are brought in proximity to each of the rollers 6. When the substances 5 are brought close to the front of the iron cores 4' generating magnetic fluces, the magnetic fluxes pass through the inside of the substance 5 preferentially, and arrive at the substance 5 of the roller 6 disposed opposite through the ingot 2, thence they flow to the iron core 4'. Thereby, large agitating force is obtained. |
