PURPOSE:To inspect the leakage condition of a cell by a method wherein X-rays are radiated to the cell and the X-ray having a wavelength correspondent to rubidium, cesium in the fluorescent radiation transmitted from the cell is detected. CONSTITUTION:X-rays sent from an X-ray tube 11 are radiated as a primary X- ray to the whole neighborhood of the sealed portion of a cell B. Fluorescent radiations excited by the cell B are reduced to parallel rays of light by a collimator 12, before being applied to a spectrocrystal 13. The angle theta of the spectrocrystal 13 has been so adjusted that it diffracts the fluorescent radiations of rubidium (Rb), cesium (Cs) only. The X-rays diffracted by the spectrocrystal 13 are detected by an X-ray detector 14. Accordingly, the installation of the apparatus in the process of inspecting the liquid leakage of cells makes it possible to detect liquid leakage automatically, quickly and correctly. |
