PURPOSE:To provide a printer which can prevent rise in the temperature of a printing head accompanied by a high speed printing with a head cooling fan provided on the printer body for air cooling. CONSTITUTION:The temperature of a printing head 10 is detected with a temperature detector 14 and compared with a set temperature with a fan controller 15. When the temperature of the printing head 10 is above the set value, a fan driving signal is output from the fan controller 15 to drive a head cooling fan 13 until the printing starts for the subsequent line after the return of the carriage 6 to the left end. The printing head 10 is air cooled as facing a head cooling fan 13. |
