PURPOSE:Easily moldable packing causing no liquid leakage in prolonged use, which is obtd. by crosslinking a specified silicone-grafted ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer in the presence of a silanol condensation catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Packing for a container used for an arom. liquid, prepd. by crosslinking a silicone-grafted ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) of vinyl acetate content 5-40% and Shore D hardness 25-40 in the presence of a silanol condensation catalyst to an extent of the gel content of at least 30%. With a vinyl acetate content of the EVA or Shore D hardness each more or less than the above value, sealability is deteriorated or solvent resistance is lowered because of excessive hardness and resulting inferior elasticity. The gel content is restricted to be at least 30%, because it is impossible to obtain necessary elasticity and solvent resistance with a gel content less than 30%. |
