PURPOSE:To freely hold an article in a desired attitude inside a container by arranging an electromagnet along the outer surface of the container in order to electrically energize the magnetic powdered material accommodated in the container. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnet 3 is magnetized by a coil 2 connected with an electric power source 1 through a switch S, and a container 4 is nipped between the both electrodes of the electromagnet 3. In the container 4, the powdered material 5 made of the magnetic material such as iron or nickel is accommodated so as to have free surfaces. In use, an article 6 is loaded in a necessary attitude inside the container 4 through the free surface of the upper layer of the magnetic powdered material 5, and at least a part of the article 6 is fed into the layer of the magnetic powdered material 5. Then, the layer of the magnetic powdered material 5 is wholly hardened through the electromagnet 3 by closing the switch S, and fluidity is eliminated, and the article 6 can be held fixedly. |
