Slide fastener stringer comprises a wrap-knit tape(31) carrying a row of spaced coupling teeth(30) along one edge, the legs(3, 4) of the teeth having embedded in them two spaced wales(6, 6' , 7, 7') of chain stitches, one or both of which include a reinforcing thread (32) interlaced on interknitted with the chain stitches & with portions running across the wales & pref. embedded in the full length of the legs of the teeth. Prdf. a core thread pair extends lengthwise betweenthe two chain-stitch wales. Coupling teeth of relatively soft moulded plastics are firmly anchored.
