PURPOSE:To surely confine a passenger in a vehicle compartment with the use of a belt even if a door is opened due to collision, by providing a deceleration switch actuated upon the detection of vehicle collision so that an electrical motor for driving the belt is prevented from being actuated, even if the door is opened due to the impact of the collision. CONSTITUTION:Upon vehicle collision a deceleration switch 21 delivers a deceleration signal P1 to a timer circuit 22 which in turn holds the signal in a predetermined time period T. Electrical current from a door switch to a relay 9 is checked by a transistor 23. Accordingly, the electrical motor 2 does not rotate since electrical current does not flow through the relay 9 and, therefore, the contact of the relay 9 does not change from A1, even when a door switch is turned on due to the opening of the door upon vehicle collision, resulting in that the seat belt is never displaced by the electrical motor 2. |
