PURPOSE:To miniaturize an ignition device and decrease its weight, by using in common at least a part of the magnetic circuits for DC-AC conversion circuit and pulse generating transformer in the ignition device. CONSTITUTION:A switch 16 is closed to flow an electric current in a capacitor 2 and transistor 9 from a power source 15. Oscillating action of the transistor 9 causes a charging current to flow in a capacitor 12 through a leakage transformer 3 and a rectifier 10. If a piston (not shown) reaches a certain angle before the top dead center, a gate voltage source 11 operates to conduct an SCR13 and generate a spark in a plug 14 through coils 7, 8 of the transformer 3. Since the transformer 3 is of leakage type, the oscillating transformer and the pulse generating transformer are not completely coupled magnetically to cause a few effect to each other. |
