PURPOSE:To turn on a discharge lamp securely even when a transmission output is small, and to prevent the discharge lamp from burning out even when the transmission output increases, by constituting te discharge lamp in a loading coil in a loose insertion state. CONSTITUTION:A discharge lamp 5 such as a fluorescent lamp is inserted loosely into a transparent cylindrical coil core body 4, and small-diameter parts provided in a step shape to large-diameter parts which have external diameters nearly equal to that of the coil body 4 of cylindrical resin-made holding cylinders 6 and 7 are fitted in spiral groove parts cut in the internal circumferential surfaces of both the end parts of the coil core body 4; and metal fittings at both ends of the discharge lamp 5 are fitted in fitting-in holes 8 and 9 of the holding cylinders 6 and 7, which are tightened up to connect the coil core body 4 to the holding cylinders 6 and 7, and also to clamp and fix the discharge lamp 5 with the holding cylinders 6 and 7. Then, both the ends of a loading coil 13 are connected electrically to electrodes 22 and 23 mounted laterally in the radius directions of spiral element cylinders 16 and 17 at about 10mm. intervals from both the terminals 20 and 21 of the discharge lamp 5. This coil 13 is covered with a transparent cover body 24. |
