<p>PURPOSE:To make the calculator more convenient in operation, by erasing all function displays other than one function indicated by operating one of desired second function keys in calculators having plural functions. CONSTITUTION:A main body of an electronic calculator 31 has a keyboard 11 and a main indicator 14, and auxiliary indicators 16A-16C are installed above numeric keys ''1''-''3'', ''4''-''6'', and ''7''-''9'', respectively, in the keyboard 11. The numeric keys are also used as second function keys when indicating keys 4 and 5 are pressed. When, for example, the rightward unit conversion indicating key 4 is pressed to convert an inch system figure, 20 inch, into a metric system figure, arrows of the reverse direction (leftward) in the auxiliary indicators 16A-16C are erased. When the ''7'' key is pressed in the next, the arithmetic circuit makes a conversion from inch to cm and the 20 is multipled by 254, and then 50.8 is displayed in the indicator 14. At the same time, only ''in cm'' is left in the auxiliary indicators 16A-16C, and thus, the mode of the calculater is indicated. Operations of the calculator become convenient in this way.</p> |
