PURPOSE:To form stable a good visible picture, by charging a magnetic developer consisting of one kind of components into a plate-shaped charged space between opposed plates and vibrating the developer by an alternating field to charge the developer and performing a contact development. CONSTITUTION:A conductive charging member 5 is opposed to a metallic sleeve 2 so that a charging space with a uniform thickness is formed between the member 5 and the outside circumferential face of the metallic sleeve 2. The sleeve 2 is rotated in a direction opposite to that of a rotary drum type photoreceptor 1 and is advanced in the same direction as the photoreceptor 1 in a developing region D, and a toner T is supplied onto the sleeve 2 and is carried by the action of a magnet body M, and a regulated quantity of the toner T is charged into the charging space where an alternating field is generated by an AC power source, and particles of the toner are vibrated and charged to form a toner crowd in this space. For the purpose of generating the alternating field, the AC power source or the AC power source and a DC power source of about positive or negative 0-300V are connected. |
