PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of transmission characteristic due to misalignment of optical axes and reduce the cost of equipment by arranging respective end faces of light transmission bodies so that they face light receiving or emitting elements on annular surfaces having the same diameter and allowing end faces of light transmission bodies to face each other on the rotation axis of a fixed member and a rotating member. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber cores 1' and 1'a of an optical fiber cable 3' are led out to a receptacle 5 to which a plug 2 is rotatably fitted through a bearing 8, and the core 1' faces light receiving and emitting surfaces 6b of diodes 6 on annular surfaces having the same diameter which are the outside peripheral surface of the plug 2, and lead wires 1 of a cable 3 from the plug 2 are connected to inside connection surface of diodes 6. The end face of an optical fiber core 1a in the center of the cable 3 faces that of the fiber core 1'a from the cable 3' on the rotation axis, and optical signals are transmitted and received between both of these end faces. Thus, the cost of equipment of the whole of a transmission system is reduced because this connector itself is provided with the function of photoelectric conversion or electrooptic conversion. |
