<p>The irrigator has a main pipe (4) connected to a water reservoir (1) which has its water-level maintained constant. The pipe has a series of distributors (5) extending from it and these have conical ends which are pushed into the soil to supply water to the roots of the plants. The end of the pipe beyond the distributors runs vertically and terminates at a height above the height of the reservoir. The reservoir is mounted on a support column and its height is adjustable to vary the water pressure in the pipe and the flow rate within the distributors.</p> |
