PURPOSE:To improve the running performance and the electromagnetic converting characteristic, by reducing the arrangement pitch of each blade of a vapor- deposited magnetic tape slitter than the maximum allowable size of the slittering scheduled width by 3/4 of the tolerance of size. CONSTITUTION:In a device carrying a wide web A of a vapor-deposited magnetic tape to a slitter having cutting rotary blade 1 consisting of an upper blade 1a and a lower blade 1b, through a guide roller 3 and an expander roller 4, and cutting the A into magnetic tapes with a prescribed width, an arrangement pitch WP of the upper blade 1a and the lower blade 1b is taken smaller than the maximum allowable size of the slitting width by about 3/5 of the tolerance of size. |
