Hydraulic servo controller for pitch of ship's propeller - uses auxiliary distributor and hydraulic jack connected to moving register of main distributor to position rotating shaft

A rotating shaft whose linear position adjusts the pitch of a ships propeller is located inside the rotating propeller drive shaft. A main hydraulic distributor controls the supply to a double acting jack whose piston is fixed to the rotating shaft to move in chambers. One of the tubes connected to the chambers communicates with a supply channel while the other communicates with an evacuation chamber or its evacuation channel. Sliding of a mobile register in the distributor enables fluid under pressure to be supplied to the chambers. The distributor is slaved to the shaft displacement by a secondary hydraulic circuit containing an auxiliary distributor and jack. These are connected to the moving register of the main distributor to form a closed loop system.
