A rigid mobile chassis (5) pivots and a on a fixed chassis (4) around a horizontal axis (6) which is transverse w.r.t. the fixed chassis. The mobile chassis supports the antenna mast (2) and is moved by a hydraulic jack (8) attached to a spacing member (21) on the fixed chassis. Operation of the jack to erect the mast allows support legs (9) to be lowered to the ground by pivot action on the external member (23) on the load support (2). A cranked lever (11) provides pivot action on the fixed chassis while a rigid crank arm (16) provides additional pivoting support. The legs have pivoting feet (32) which are firmly located on the ground by the action of hydraulic jacks.
