PURPOSE:A killer yeast having killer toxin resistance and killer activity, obtained by subjecting Saccharomyces cerevisiae to cell fusion or transformation to introduce a certain plasmid into it. CONSTITUTION:Saccharomyces cerevisiae is subjected to cell fusion or transformation to introduce a plasmid obtained from a killer strain of Kluyveromyces Lactis into it, to give a Saccharomyces cerevisiae having resistance to a killer toxin formed by a killer strain of Kluyveromyces Lactis and the same killer character as that of the killer strain, or having not only the resistance to the killer toxin and the killer activity but also resistance to a killer toxin formed by a killer strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and the same killer character as that of the killer strain. |
