An anti-theft device for exhibited articles of all kinds of different types which are at least somewhere designed with a through closed cavity and where the anti-theft device consists of a locking body 1 which is arranged to be able to be attached anywhere indoors and outdoors and which is designed with an outwardly open slot 4 which can be closed using a locking piston 5 which can be actuated by a key 7, and the anti-theft device comprises one or more lines 2 which are arranged so that they can be inserted into the slot 4 belonging to one and the same locking body 1, and with lines being designed, at both ends, with stopping members 11 and 12-16, respectively for preventing the line or lines 2 from being pulled out of the locking body 1. In one embodiment of the invention, the stopping member at the lower end of the line 2 consists of a ball 11 which is of a larger size than the slot 4 in the locking body, while the stopping member at the opposite end consists of a hanger 14-16 which is moveably attached to the line 2 by way of a looping 12, 13.
