PURPOSE:To improve the informity of minute holes and to achieve high density recording, by making minute holes on the surface of a non-magnetic substrate through radiation of converged energy beam and filling in the holes with a ferromagnetic substance. CONSTITUTION:On a non-magnetic substrate 1, minute holes 2, 0.2-0.5mu in diameter toward broadwise, 0.2-5mu in depth, 1 in depth/diameter preferably about 10, are made with 1.6X10<7>-1.6X10<11> holes/cm<2> in area density, and a ferromagnetic substance 3 such as magnetic alloy or magnetic oxide is filled in the minute holes to form a magnetic recording medium. |
