PURPOSE:To enable simultaneous and continuous printing of longitudinal and lateral setups and a plurality of columns by enabling pulling-back of a prescribed quantity of a rolled-up paper sheet according to an instruction of a control device. CONSTITUTION:The web 23 printing of which is completed is fed longitudinally by a longitudinal feeding roller 11 driven by a servo motor 13, while a screw 9 is turned in a prescribed amount by a servo motor 10 to drive a carriage 5 by a space of one character in the lateral direction, and thereby printing is conducted. In addition to the aforesaid units, which constitute a mechanism provided in conventional printers, a driving device for pulling back the web 23 by means of a servo motor 21 is provided. The web printing of which is completed is pulled back thereby in an arbitrary quantity to conduct printings of longitudinal and lateral setups and of shifted columns. All of these printings are performed according to the instruction of a control device. |
