<p>The feeding unit coomprises a flexible band which encloses a series of transverse rods (3) to reduce any lateral friction. The band is rolled up onto a drum (9) which is rotated by a chain drive and passes under the feed hopper, being centred by the rods. The band passes along the bottom of the feed trough and the animals eat directly from it. The band is moved by a chain which passes over a drive pulley (8) mounted above the drum. The chain moves along the inside edge of the feed trough.</p> |
