The self-loading e.g. earth-moving vehicle esp. for agricultural use comprises a plate (37) extending over the width of the load space (20) which is mounted on the free end of a telescopic arm (31). The other end of the telescopic arm (31) pivots about a transverse horizontal axis (34) and moves the plate (37) back and forth to load or unload material. The front edge of the load space (20) pref. carries a shovel (47) which can be lowered about a pivotal axis (46) to act as a scoop and which can be subsequently raised and emptied by movement of the plate (37).
