PURPOSE:To detect air bubbles contained in a liquid passing through pipings with an air bubble detector of electrostatic type by a construction wherein a pair of opposed electrodes are disposed on the outer side of an insulative pipe integral with a part of pipings in a liquid feed system including a tank and pipings for the liquid so as to form a capacitor. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode 5 and a negative electrode 6 are disposed on the outer side of an insulative pipe 4 in a piping 2 leading from a liquid tank 1 in an opposied relation to form a capacitor 8. The electrode 6 is grounded together with a liquid 7 passing through the pipe 4, so that the electrode 6 and the liquid 7 are held at the same potential. With this arrangement, when water containing air bubbles flows through the pipe 4 via the pipng 2, electrostatic capacity of the capacitor 8 is changed in accordance with the passing condition of air bubbles. Thus, such air bubbles can be detected by monitoring output voltage of the capacitor 8. |
