The additional fitting is for use in an electric baking oven. It consists of a flat rectangular heating element with a plug element (5) which can fit into a socket in the oven. The plug element has three prongs, (6,7,8), which may be line, neutral and earth terminals respectively. The heating element (2) may be laid in a meandering pattern and consists of a rod or tube containing a conductor, embedded in a filling material (3) between a baseplate (1) and a lid (4). The baseplate has upturned edges which support the lid; it is made of fireproof clay while the lid is made of calcareous tufa. The contact making system with the plug elements may be held in place by the weight of the fitting or heating element.
