Remotely controllable uncoupling device for electric toy and model railway vehicles, with a tilting-armature electromagnet which is fastened to the supporting frame of the vehicle and acts on an uncoupling member during the uncoupling and of which the coil provided with a pin-shaped iron core is located above the tilting armature, the coil axis being horizontally arranged transversely to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, and the tilting armature being made frame-shaped and being mounted essentially horizontally in such a way that its longitudinal legs extend under the ends of the iron core and its free crossbar extends as an uncoupling member under the coupling hook.
