PURPOSE:To guide condensed solar light energy into many optical fibers by exposing core parts of end parts by removing clad layers, and heat-sealing all the core parts in one body so that the outer circumferential part is exposed to the air. CONSTITUTION:Many optical fibers 11 have only core parts 11b at their end parts by removing clad layers 11a, and are boundled in a casing 12. Then, their end surface parts are fitted in the suction part 13 of a vacuum device and while air in gaps of respective optical fibers is sucked, the end parts are fused to be coupled in one body; and the end surface 10 is finished into a specular surface and then the casing 12 is removed. After the casting 12 is removed, the outer circumferential part of the heat-sealed coupling part into contat with an air layer having a small refractive index, so light incident to the end surface 10 of said heat-sealed coupling part is guided effectively into the optical fibers 11 without leaking out from the outer circumferential surface of the heat-sealed coupling part. |
