The interchangeable insole is provided with a heel part of predetermined height for the purpose of relieving the Achilles tendon and for reducing the risk of twisting over the outer edge of the sole of a conventional sports shoe and leisure shoe. This heel part can be designed in particular as a heel wedge, which extends as far as the boundary line (4) between the joint area and metatarsal area (5, 6). In addition to the heel wedge (3), an edge wedge (8) of predetermined height (h) is provided on the outer side (7) of the sole, which edge wedge (8) tapers continuously towards the longitudinal axis (9) of the sole. The heel wedge (3) and the edge wedge (8) can be connected integrally to the insole (1) or, consisting of a different material from this insole, can be connected to it at a later stage. <IMAGE>
